John Bost, CPA - Audit Shareholder

John M. Bost, CPA, is a shareholder in the Audit Department

of Mikunda, Cottrell & Co., and has more than 34 years experience

in accounting, auditing and management consulting. John began

his public accounting career with KPMG, and left to join

Mikunda, Cottrell & Co. in 1977. John’s focus is accounting

and auditing of municipalities and electric utilities. In addition to

the annual financial statement audits, he  provides such services

as budgeting, grant reporting, feasibility studies, overhead

allocations, internal control evaluations,  and long-range

 planning to more than 40 clients throughout Alaska.

John has also assisted several  municipal governments in Alaska

in meeting the requirements to obtain the Certificate of Achievement

for Excellence in Financial Reporting.

John is a member of the Special Review Committee for the

National Government Finance Officers Association’s Certificate

of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting Program,

the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Alaska Society

of Certified Public Accountants, and the Alaska Government Finance Officers Association.

John graduated with honors in 1974 from Eastern Washington University.
