James Hasle, CPA - President, Audit Shareholder

James C. Hasle, CPA is a shareholder in the Audit Department of

Mikunda, Cottrell & Co. with more than 20 years experience in auditing

and public accounting, and is the current President of Mikunda, Cottrell

& Co. During his career, Jim has developed expertise in providing value-

added accounting, auditing, and management advisory services to

governmental, not-for-profit, closely held corporations, Alaska Native

corporations, and government contractors qualified as Small Business

Administration 8(a) disadvantaged entities. Jim has significant

knowledge of governmental contracting issues including indirect rate structures, Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Government Service Agency (GSA) schedules, and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS).

Prior to joining Mikunda, Cottrell & Co. in 1999, Jim worked for Grant

Thornton.  He also formerly managed the government contracting practice of an RSM McGladrey office in northern Virginia.

Jim is a qualified national instructor for RSM McGladrey staff training courses and has served on numerous advisory committees for businesses as well as an executive search committee for the University of Alaska – Anchorage. He has authored several articles on financial and management issues in several Alaska business publications.

Jim has also served as the Chief Financial Officer of a large commercial contractor as well as General Manager of a major properties management firm. He is a current and past member of numerous councils including the technology sector and municipal development sector.  As President of Mikunda, Cottrell & Co., Jim oversees the strategic direction as well as the daily operations of Alaska’s largest locally owned certified public accounting and consulting firm.

He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Alaska Society of Certified Public Accountants, and Alaska 8(a) Association. He also formerly served as a Loaned Executive to the United Way Campaign.

Jim is a 1985 graduate of James Madison University.
