EMPLOYEE ACTIVITIES
2008 Community Clean-up Project
Thank you to everyone who participated in the 2008 Anchorage Chamber Citywide Cleanup. We appreciate all the hard work and positive attitudes from everyone. With over 40 volunteers, it was a huge success and a great way to kick off our Summer Flex Schedule.
We were able to clean up a large section of the northbound side of the Seward Highway between Dimond Blvd. and Tudor Rd.
and filled over 115 of the bright orange
bags before we ran out and had to buy
more. All in all we were able to pick up
over 3,000 lbs. (yes, that’s 1 ½ tons!!)
of every kind of EYESORE you can
imagine (and some you can’t imagine)
in a little over three hours. This more
than triples the 940 lbs. we picked
up last year in the same amount of
time. We’re looking forward to
doing our part in helping to clean up
Anchorage again next year!
2008 Salmon Family Fun Run
On Saturday, May 10th, MCC was again a sponsor and participant in the popular family-oriented 2008 Anchorage South Rotary 17th Annual Salmon Family Fun Run.
While most of the group managed the 2K walk with ease, several brave souls stomped out the 5K and a few even
braved the 10K. Tanya Davis finished
the 10K with a time of 56:53 while
Carli Carney finished the 5K with a
time of 25:12.
Thank you to everyone who came out
in support of the Anchorage South
Rotary. We especially want to thank
the people who brought their families
along. It was great to see so many
employees and families participate.
