2010 Community Clean-up Project

On Friday, April 30th, cheerful, upbeat and eventually dirty MCC employees kicked off the 42st Annual Anchorage Chamber of Commerce Citywide Cleanup.

For the fourth year, MCC employees spent thier morning cleaning the trash that cluttered the New Seward Highway and Frontage road between Dimond Blvd. and Tudor Road on the northbound side.

Thanks to the effort of over 50 volunteers, the Cleanup was a huge success. Roughly 3,000 lbs of garbage was collected and taken to the dump.

Every year we look forward to making our community beautiful again after our spring break-ups. Thank you to everyone that helped clean up our city streets!

2009 Salmon Family Fun Run

On May 09, 2009, 20 of MCC employees, along with hundreds of others, enjoyed the beautiful Anchorage sun with a jog along the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail.

Every year Mikunda, Cottrell & Co. participates in the Annual Salmon Run. This year the Inlet View Elementary School PTA took over the race's primary sponsorship and MCC was once again party to a little friendly competition and fun.

Congratulations to Sam Sponseller who came in first place for the Mikunda, Cottrell & Co. team. He completed the 5K with ease and clocked in at just 26 minutes and 58 seconds.  Maria Lazutkina did a great job completing  the 10K in just a little over an hour. Although not a timed event, the 2K is not to be overlooked; our compliments go out to everyone that participated in the 2009 Salmon Fun Run!

 Habitat for Humanity

MCC volunteers assisted Habitat for Humanity on

June 24th put the finishing touches on the Spenard

& 32nd Townhomes. We all got to enjoy the

beautiful sunshine while they kept us busy working

outside painting the buildings, staining the fences

and working on miscellaneous projects.

The weather was less than ideal when

we volunteered again on July 23rd. The rain

pounded the exposed frame of the houses

we were helping put up and did not let up all

day. The volunteers perservered inspite of

the weather.  Everyone had such positive attitudes

and worked together to complete the tasks and

get the walls put up.

We want to offer a special thank you to the UAA students who came out to help us.
